The Spice:

If you love Salmon than you will love Salmon Boy Run Rub.  Each package contains two ounces of hand – blended brown sugar, paprika, sea salt, black pepper, cacao powder, cumin and red pepper flakes.  This will not only take your Salmon to the next level but just about anything you put it on.  The best way to use this spice is on fresh, high-quality, (Coho, Copper River or Alaskan Salmon) if you can get it and grilled on a Cedar Plank.  It is slightly spicy and good on anything but specially formulated and delicious on Cedar-Planked Salmon.  The flavor has a hint of smoky sweetness with a little bit of background heat.

The Legend – TLINGIT LEGEND

Local variations of Salmon Boy are told throughout southeast Alaska. Clan storytellers tell how Salmon Boy, once spoiled and wasteful, learned to appreciate and treat the fish with respect by the Salmon People. His newfound reverence and teachings as a shaman in his village taught respect for the salmon, the need for stewardship of their ocean pasture and how we should respect and care for all living creatures, especially the ones we use as food.
